Abstract

The study offers a nuanced understanding of entrepreneurial intentions in the context of India by examining the impact of attitudinal, social, and cognitive factors on entrepreneurial intentions among management students. The constructs are grounded in the Theory of Planned Behaviour and the Social Cognitive Theory to explore the role of need for achievement, subjective norms, internal locus of control, and role models in shaping students' entrepreneurial intentions. A closed-ended questionnaire was distributed to 275 management students in various universities. Using SPSS and AMOS 23, the present study employed Structural Equation Modelling to analyse the effects. The findings suggest a stronger correlation between need for achievement, internal locus of control and entrepreneurial intentions. The study offers insights for policymakers, educators, and industry stakeholders to enhance entrepreneurship ecosystem support.
