Optimizing operational efficiency in an Edutainment centre: A study on KidZania's role-play model
Abstract: This research paper examines operational efficiency optimization at KidZania Delhi NCR, a global edutainment facility that blends education with entertainment through immersive role-play experiences. Conducted over an eight-week internship from May to July 2025, this mixed-methods study combined quantitative analysis (time-motion studies, visitor surveys, performance metrics) and qualitative research (direct observations, semi-structured interviews, focus groups) to identify operational strengths, challenges, and improvement opportunities. Key findings reveal that KidZania achieves strong visitor satisfaction (76.6% rating experiences as memorable), demonstrates robust operational readiness (76.5% staff confidence in emergency protocols), and maintains excellent repeat visitation rates (38.5% annual repeat visitors). The research underscores that operational efficiency in experiential learning environments requires balancing process optimization with emotional engagement a critical insight for the growing global edutainment sector.
