Unlocking economic potential through MSMEs: A study of government interventions in Uttar Pradesh with special reference to the new tariffs
Abstract: Micro small and medium enterprises play a big part in India’s economy. MSMEs create jobs, add to exports and help with even growth across regions. This paper looks at how important MSMEs are in Uttar Pradesh. It checks out government efforts to boost and shield them. There’s extra focus on what the recent U.S. move means with tariffs up to 50 % on Indian exports. US President’s Donald Trump levied 50% tariffs on India. The USA Government had levied a 25% tariff on India followed by an additional tariff of 25% as punishment for buying crude oil from Russia. Trump’s 50% Tariffs on India is the highest rates on any of the US trading partners. This study points out problems and chances ahead. It breaks down plans for the short run and long run to keep MSMEs going despite trade hits from US tariff imposition.
